Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

probate court mass

Hi ,my father had changed his will in the hospital his girlfriend and friend helped him they told me he made telephone calls to an attorney nad then they cam in to witness at later time,I have contested to the will but have not given the court the specifics as of yet, undue influnce by medication etc,the proposed executor had filed will and gave me a copy with the court and has not filed for temporary executor as of yet, can I ask the court to be appointed temporary adminstator so I can retrive the medical rewcords from the hospital to build my case, the estate is approx 4-500k, but my dad was on medicaid and was in hospital over 3 months so I know he was resposible for at least 20% of bills but I am not sure if medicaid goes after the money paid after he dies or not so not sure the estate will be worth anything or not reluctant to hire attorney at this point was told cost between 18-35 k to contest will can I do the first steps with minimal help filling out proper papers I am willing to do all leg work and go to court etc until I see if worth fighting for then I would get an attorney more involved or just give in the the vultures. Thank you rae

A decision to contest a will requires an understanding on the standards for such an action. The contest is a blend between the law, the facts, and possibly experts involved.

The leg work portion of this is probably not great. If you believe that your case has merit, go for it.
