Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

What were the requirements for a will in MA in1981? My husband passed away in 2007 while living in NH but the only will I fopund was written in 1981 while we were residents of MA. I am trying to get it through probate in NH but I feel like the attorney is making it more of a problem than it should be.

it is a simple statement of intention that details the person making the will, and the disposition. Generallly, it should be signed and witnessed. A self - proving will, has 2-3 witnesses and the signatures should be notarized.
