Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts
if my ex sells our marital home and I am still on the mortgage and deed, will I be responsible for taxes and/or liability of possible lawsuits from the buyer in the future? She was told b the judge to refinance it and get my name off the mortgage and deed within 6 months of our divorce. that was 10 years ago.

Your wife is in contempt. All of your concerns are valid and your credit may be at risk if you are liable on the note. Retain counsel and get this done. If she can't refinance, perhaps buy her out at the fair market value 10 years ago or force the sale. Call our office for assistance. We practice marital and real estate law.
