Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

Does a will have to be notorized in Massachusetts to be valid and legal. My mother's will was done with a lawyer and signed and witnessed but the lawyer never notorized it with a raised seal. Can it be delcared invalid and contested.

No although it is better if it is. However, it does require two witnesses under current law. The Will can be accepted by the Court, however any beneficiary can challenge any Will for any legtiamate reason regardless of whether it meets the requirements or not,

Good Luck

No. a notary only reduces the need to locate the two witnesses to prove a Will but lack of a notary does not affect legality or validity of the Will. Good Luck!
