Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Massachusetts

Who and where is a will, read.

When my father passed away,I walked into the house, and was met with yelling, crying and screaming.I was told that my fathers will, witch was on the dinning room table had to be signed by me right away.I was in the will to receive one fifth of the monies from the sale of the house. My other four siblings, had all ready signed making my mother exutrix.I was yelled at belittled, and threatened into signing. My mother gave me her word that she would not change my fathers last wishes. The house has recently been sold, and guess what,I did not receive my one fifth inheritence.Do I have any legal recourse?I have never heard of a will being presented like that ever.No attorney was present or notary, just my mothers word and promise.PLEASE,help me''.''

Re: Who and where is a will, read.

You failed to identify which state your father lived in. If it was Massachusetts, the

will is invalid unless it was executed by your father. This means it was signed

before he died. However, you may be confused, it is not unusual to have the

petition to probate signed shortly after the person died while all heirs are available.

You should go to probate court and examine the file for your father's estate. Then

take copies of the documents to a local attorney who can interpret the documents

for you.
