Re: Wills

I am not sure why you need to make a change of address for a Will, if you have moved and simpy want to update your Will by adding your new address you can do what is called a Codicil, but it is not necessary for identification purposes. If you need to re-designate a piece of property because for instance you sold it and now have a different address, you can do a Codicil to your Will as well.

If you have moved from one state to another, you should see an attorney to determine if the old Will meets the requirements of MA law.

Re: Wills

For simple changes to a will, it is possible to execute what is called a codicil to your will.

Most attorneys could probably do this for a small flat fee charge. However, depending on when your will was last updated, it may be time to have your estate plan reviewed in its entirety by an attorney.

When you buy or sell property, make a large move, experience the death or birth of a very close family member, or experience some other important life event like a marriage or divorce, you should have your estate plan reviewed to ensure that it reflects your current wishes.

Please feel free to contact me should you have any further questions. I am located in North Quincy, minutes outside downtown Boston.
