amputation

I'm a machine operator i removed a guard from the machine which i shouldn't of done and i amputated my right thumb. I heard i could get some money for amputation even though i remove the guard is that possible.

Yes, you are probably entitled to funds even though you removed the guard.

Here are some possibilities:

Worker's compensation: Is generally a no fault system. (There are exceptions for intentional misconduct.) You are probably entitled entitled to compensation.

THird party lawsuit: This is more difficult, but you MIGHT be able to bring a lawsuit against the manufacturer of the machinery if it was forseeable that someone would remove the guard.
