Legal Question in Workers Comp in Massachusetts

At conference the judge ordered my Lawyer be paid $1000.00, My benefit be returned to 60%of my prior earnings, the decisions about recommended surgery and the money WC owed me for cutting my benefit for the prior 3 months was delayed until an Inpartial court appointed MD's report. >$600.00 was deducted from the check WC sent me for the following month. My Lawyer has told me WC has the right to recuperate a percentage of what they paid her. I was told at my initial consultation with this Lawyer that I would not have to pay for her services unless there was a settlement. To me my benifet being cut is the same as paying her. Is this a legal option for the WC to do?

I am unsure you are referring to when you say "her." Are you referring to the impartial physician? If so, the fee is $450, and an additional $100 if you miss the appointment. The insurer does not have the right to deduct this amount from your checks. The only time the insurer can deduct money from a check is if they overpaid you. Please feel free to contact me if you require additional help.
