Legal Question in Workers Comp in Massachusetts
Would an individual be entitled to file a workers compensation claim if they were not technically "on the books" and being paid under the table but were hurt while working for a company?

No, unless you can show what you were earning.

you should defer to the advice of a MA lawyer as the laws of each state vary. in indiana or illinois it might be a little more flexible depending on the facts. HOWEVER, if you are not subject to MA workers comp, you might have a negligence case against the company depending on how the accident happened. speak with a MA injury/wc attorney. normally consultations are free. good luck.
