Legal Question in Workers Comp in Massachusetts
I was in a work related accident and was wondering what type of case I might Have? I was working on a car and had drained the gas into and oil pan bucket. then after that moved it out of the way. proceeded to put the car up in the air and torch some bolts off an exhaust system on the same car. mean while the bucket of gas and gas tanks for the torch was 6-8 feet away from the front of the car and where i was torching. A spark got over to the gas bucket and caught on fire and was next to the torch gas tanks, the fire was small so i proceed to move it away from the tanks to behind the car and away from both car and tanks then as i was almost done and ready to go grab a fire extinguisher the gas flash fired at me and I was on fire from the top of my head to the middle of my chest. so i turned around and throw my shirt over my head and proceeded to pat myself out, finally got myself put out and took a second to catch my breath then saw the boss was having trouble getting the extinguisher to work so i ran over to the other one and started to put the fire out then the boss got his going and he put the rest of the fire out. as for the shop they do not have anytype of safety glasses and gloves for torching no eye flush near by but in the bathroom around the corner and its not even there. they dont have anytype of powder shower thing. they also did not even really go over anything incase of a fire or how to use extinguisher. the boss was there while doing all of this and did not suggest anything for my safety or for the shops safety.

If you are out of work for at least 5 days, you would be entitled to a percentage of your wages, and to have your medical bills paid. Additionally, you may be entitled to additional money if you have scars on your face, neck or hands. You may also be entitled to double your workers' comp, if you can show gross negligence on your employer's part. You do not get any money for pain and suffering.
