Legal Question in Consumer Law in Mexico
negligence from a travel agency and airline company
I bought a ticket in the net that got lost by UPS and had to buy a new one as advise by the agency at the airport on the same day. Filled uo all my LTA papers and sent them to the agency for the refund process to start. I have been waiting since June 07 for my money, calling and emailing Orbitz since then, spending a big amount of money on phonecalls to get finally someone who said they can not do anyhting for me anymore. Now I am talking to someone in Iberia that said I have to pay 100 dollars fee for refund and they will pay only the amount for the first ticket bought which is the cheapest one.
Both Orbitz and beria had missing information and wrong info about the case, which made everything very slow, 14 months for a refund! They do not want to compensate in any case for the mistakes made and will only paid half of the amount I was expecting. They have informed me wrongly from the beggining to cover their mistakes and no one wants to take responsabily for the innitial and further mistakes.
Can I ask any of te parties for a compensation? Can I have my full money back for the second ticket purchased the same day in the airport, as advised from the representative in Orbitz?

Yes, you can. Both. You can get your money back and a compensation for all this time. You can go to Court.
