Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Mexico

mexican hospital bill

paid medical expenses from a nightmare honeymoon in mexico. now they are calling saying we owe more money for a doctors bill. i have recieved no written invoices or anything. they are threatening to send it to collections if we do not pay. can a hospital in another country claim all this and collect from a US citizen?

Yes they can legally collect form you. It won't be easy, however.

If they have your SS# they will ref. to an agency in US and ruin your credit. If no SS, good for you!

There are a lot of things they can try to do. As far as actually taking it to court there are a lot of factors.
