Legal Question in Immigration Law in Mexico

Losing U.S. citzenship

If a U.S. Citizen moves himself, his wife, and his child (age 12) to Mexico with the intent of staying for good (building a house, etc.) what rights do the wife and child have? Will they lose US citizenship? Are they required to come back into the US during this time? What if the man doesn't allow it?

Anyone born in the US will not lose US citizenship simply by living in a foreign country.

If the wife has only LPR status (Green Card), she could lose that status by moving to Mexico.

To maintain LPR status, she must do several things to prove an intent to remain a lawful permanent resident of the US.
