Need to know the process for a mexican living in Veracruz Mexico wanting to come to the US to work temporarily or even actually reside here.

Normally the person must be sponsored by an employer or a close family member who already has legal status in the U.S. If this person has at least bachelor's degree and has a job offer in the U.S. that requires at least a bachelor's degree, he should have a good shot. It depends on the person's educational and professional background, and the type of job opportunity available.

There may be opportunitites to qualify for status to work in the U.S. under the North American Free Trade Agreement, if the offer involves a profession listed under the NAFTA schedule. If the job is for a seasonal type position, there is a process available for that type of opportunity, too.

I assume you do not have a family member already in the US who could sponsor you.

If you have a four year college degree or the equivalent and a US employer willing to sponsor you for a job in the US that would require your degree or some similar degree as a minimum entry level requiremwnt for the job, you should pursue this further. Otherwise, unless you have money to invest in a new business here in the US, there's not much you can do to qualify.
