Legal Question in Traffic Law in Mexico
Liability in US for accidents in Mexico
A jeep was broadsided in Mexico by a Mexican cab that left the scene. A person was injured in the jeep. That person is now tryiny to sue the driver of the jeep. The injured person was not wearing a seat belt. The driver was. The vehicle was a rental. Does the driver have liability when back in the US?

Re: Liability in US for accidents in Mexico
It is nearly impossible to get a rental in Mexico without insurance coverage. Did you have coverage? If so, then they should pay. If not, then the passenger can sue you -- your recourse is against the phantom-never-to-found Mexican cab driver.
