Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Michigan
I fell behind in rent due to unemployment ending and I've been unable to find work due to health problems, now I'm being evicted. In the court papers the stated monthly rent is less than what I've been paying, will the lower rent rate be the one applied to what I owe and need to come up with? They also have the wrong address on the court papers, does that make a difference? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I think that many judges will overlook clerical errors and allow them to be corrected. What is important is that you have been placed on notice and you have a court date at which you should appear at and address the issues you stated here with the judge.
