Legal Question in Disability Law in Michigan

I have multiple sclerosis which is a debilitating neurological disease. Because of the medication I am, I am always in chronic pain. I work at a gas station which is part of a supercenter chain. They tried to write me up for sitting down for a quick second, which I refused to sign. I then went to my doctor and got a note stating about my condition and that I should be able to sit down when needed. My work said that they will not abide by it. Isn't this discrimination against a person why a handicap? Isn't it illegal to discriminate against me because of the American Disability Act? If I can get what they told me in writing, do I have enough to possibly sue the company. Thank You
