Asking for a transfer to preferred work schedule-reasonable or not?

Is it necessary for an employer to make reasonable accomodation for the request of an employee with cardio infarction to be transferred to a regular work schedule (8 a.m - 5 p.m.)? According to the employee's doctor, he is able to perform overtime work as long as it is within reason and there is no difference wheteher he works on Monday or Tuesday as opposed to Saturday or Sunday. His only limitation is exposure to extreme cold which only entails 1-2 hrs. of his job.

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requires COVERED employers (those having a set # of employees -- I think it's 30, but am unsure of the #) to provide "reasonable accommodation" to individuals with a disability or who are PERCEIVED to have a disability. This is a fairly loose concept that depends on the facts of the case.... but the facts offered in the post would cause me to believe the employer is probably required to accommodate, or face a lawsuit.
