It makes sure that the executive branch does not exceed or abuse its powers given by the Constitution through its judicial decisions.

Supreme Court jurisdiction is very limited when it comes to the executive branch.
That's the doctrine of "separation of powers."
Essentially, the SC can't just "check" another branch,--it only can take real cases that come before it.
