Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan
bankruptcy
Can I file bankruptcy? I owe about 25,000.00 in loans & credit cards. I have no house. My car is in my fathers name because my credit is so bad. Everytime I turn around someone else is going to sue me. To be honest with you I can't keep track anymore. I also must have a surgrey that cost about 20,000.

Re: bankruptcy
Yes, you can file for bankruptcy relief. A Chapter 7 bankruptcy, also known as a fresh start bankruptcy action, will eliminate most, if not all, of your unsecured debt. If you do not have health insurance you should check with the hospital where your surgery will be done to see if they offer grants for individuals in your financial situation to pay for the surgery. Feel free to call me if you have further questions or would like to start the bankruptcy process.
