Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan

Is bankruptcy a good idea for us?

My husband and I consistently pay our bills on time-however, we are still very short on cash to pay our extra expenses each month-so, we end up relying on our credit card to fill in the gaps. This is self-defeating however, as we owe $20,000 on it!

Should we file bankruptcy so that we'll have more ''breathing room'' each month?
