Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan
we are in chapter 13 bankruptcy. the lease on our car ends soon. We found a lender to purchase the car, did the paperwork but the trustee has not yet approved. It has been 60 days. What if the trustee does not decide by the time the lease is done.

Do you have a lawyer? Was a motion to approve the sale necessary and/or filed with the court? Perhaps you were supposed to file the motion. Your lawyer should know the reason for the hold up and if not, or you don't have one, contact the trustee's office yourself, and then confirm your inquiry in writing, while also relaying your concern about the timeline. Perhaps the trustee did not receive your paperwork or it has fallen through the cracks. There are too many "what ifs" for anyone to give you a legal answer - you need to follow up with the trustee's office and staff directly.
