Can chapter 7 wipe out a small claims judgement?

We were awarded a settlement in Small Claims court 07/04. The judgement was for unpaid wages, prepaid money for building addition that wasn't done and a hot tub stolen off our property. The person that was ordered to pay is now filing chpt. 7. Can we still collect? He had 21 days to pay and never did. So we paid to file a disclosure of assets. He showed but did not comply. The magistrate said he was holding him in contempt and that is when he decided to have his attorney send a order to stay to the magistrate. The magistrate told us there was nothing he could do until after meeting of creditors to see if it was dismissed and we should go. We took another day off and went to the creditors meeting today and was told to contact a lawyer. I didn't understand a thing that happened today or why we needed to be there. We can not afford legal rep. we still have a unfinished addition and 5 kids. What can we do? Thank You for your time.
