Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan
divorce and bankruptcy
My husband & I are getting divorced, we both make decent $ but can not afford the debt we created on our own. Would we be able to file chapter 7? What are the guidlines for filing. I want to keep the home for our kids. We make 750.00 each per/wk and our bills for everything are 4900.00
thats counting the mortgage child care etc. With child support and 1/2 child care from him I should be able to keep the house but won't be able to pay the credit and car debts. With him paying me and a place of his own he won't be able to afford it either. We've been in debt forever (part of the divorce problem) I don't care anymore. I don't care if I ever get credit again as long as I have a decent place for my kids to grow up.
