Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan
Divorce Settlement and Bankruptcy
I was divorced for the second time in January, now I am filing for bankruptcy because my ex's want more money than I have and I do have additional payments on basic expences. I would like to include the second divorce settlement in my Bankruptcy but am unsure if this is possible. I am not ordered to pay alimony, but am ordered to pay $10,513.23 to my ex to pay off our Discover, General Motors, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America Cards. As I only make $1200. a month I would like to include this in my Bankruptcy as it accounts for 70% of my debt. Would it be possible to include this? Both of our names are on the credit cards.
