Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan
can a federal employee be fired for filing for bankruptcy? Also can their security clearance be pulled. I know if you have excessive debit that counts against you but if you file and pay off the debt you agree with to the courts will you be okay?

In general, there is protection against everyone from being fired because they filed for bankruptcy. It is possible there may be an exception for your specific position. In regards to the security clearance, I would need to know your specific position's guidelines. If you need further assistance, find our phone number at www.aldrichlegalservices.com.
