Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan
how to file chapter 7 without tax returns
I need to file chapter 7 bankruptcy. I have been unemployed for several years and have filed no tax returns since I owed no taxes. How do I fulfill the requirement for tax returns for the last two years when I did not file. Will I be penalized and not allowed to file because I did not file. It is not as if I owed taxes and did not file. I had no taxable income of any kind. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I would not worry about tax returns as long as you have a legitimate reason for not filing them. You would need to show proof of income from other sources such as social security.
