How would being laid off from a job affect a confirmed bankruptcy case?

You can either convert to Chapter 7, your case will be dismissed or you'll find a way to pay. You can make payments on your own provided you have income. Depending on the circumstances, you may be able to reduce the percentage to unsecured creditors, but you must contact you counsel to see what option is best for you.
