Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan
Leased vehicle
Due to a medical condition I was told I could file chapter 7 on my collection debts and chapter 13 on my mortgage. What about a vehicle that you lease? can you have one and still be in Bankcruptcy?

Re: Leased vehicle
I don't know where you are getting your information, but an individual can file under either Chapter 7 or Chapter 13, not both. You can generally keep a leased vehicle for the lease term under either Chapter 7 or Chapter 13.
Taking legal advice from non-lawyers is not a good idea. You need a consultation with a bankruptcy attorney to determine what you should do. Please feel free to contact me at 248.679.1552 for assistance.
