co owning a home

my mother is going to file bankruptcy and we own a home together. how exactly should she legally file that in order to reaffirm the home?

From the way your question is formed, it sounds like your mother is going to try to file the bankruptcy without the assistance of an attorney. I think that is a very bad idea. Bankruptcies are not easy for those who are inexperienced, and often for those who are experienced. I advise you to seek a bankruptcy attorney to assist her.
