Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan

paychecks owed to employees

My former employer declared bankrupcy (either chaper 7 or 11 on 05/29, I think that they haven't decided which). I quit on 05/01. They still owe me for the month of April and for part of March. March's payroll never closed, and they sent advances to cover a portion of the payroll because they couldn't cover all. How can I claim the money that is still owed to me?

File a Proof of Claim form which willmost likely be provided by you when you recieve notice of the creditors meeting. If you do not recieve notice you can obtain a proof of claim form at FindLaw on the Web. Larry Maun 713.266.2560

Greetings; First, you can file a complaint in Lansing. Unfortunately, given the low level of your loss, you can not afford an attorney to help recover your lost wages. I suggest you contact the trustee assigned to the case and possibly they will be of assistance. They are usually very kind and helpful people. Good luck. Atty. Trichler; www.trichler.com
