Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan
Reaffirmation of Mortgage
What happens if I can't continue paying on my mortgage after reaffirmation? My bankruptcy was final Nov 98.

Re: Reaffirmation of Mortgage
I am not licensed to practice law in your state but obviously, the mortgage company will be able to foreclose as provided by your state's laws. And they may have the right to obtain a judgment against you if they can't re-sell the property for what was owed against it. Most mortgage companies I've dealt with don't do this for purely practical reasons - they seldom can collect. Sometimes state laws forbid these "deficiency judgments" on real estate.
I suggest you read yur contract and see a lawyer about specific questions.
