Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Michigan

I received a letter today from the trusty in a past bankruptcy. It said that the land that was supposed to be sold in the bankruptcy has not had 1 offer in three years. Therefore he was going to patition the court to abandone the property. It is and has always remained in my name even though the taxes are 2 years behind now. Does this mean that the land would come back to me or do I need to address this issue with a lawyer. Thanks

It appears from what you have said that title to the land would come back to you. However, if the taxes have not been paid you will want to look into the status of the taxes promptly.

When the Trustee abandons property he/she is telling the court that he/she will not be selling the property to pay creditors. It is then in your hands as if the Trustee had never been involved.
