Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan
breaking a contract
My Mom(69)signed a contract with a dating service and paid a lot of money. This was less than a month ago and now she is not happy with it and can not afford it. Is there any way to get out of the contract without being sued?

Re: breaking a contract
It is difficult to say whether a contract can be broken without reviewing he contract. Suffice to say you can stop paying and wait for them to sue. If the contract is found to be enforceable and you have assets they will collect.
However, we just represented an elderly (84) gentleman who signed up for a dating service and were able to get him out of the contract.
You should review the contract for its provisions regarding termination. If you are unable to find a method of terminating the contract consult an attorney for guidance.
