Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan

Business Opportunity Question

I am purchasing training to learn how to start a business in the home health care industry from company A. I evaluated several opportunities before deciding on company A.

When I told company B of my decision to go with company A they told me that the owners of company A were former employees.

Company B says they has a law suit against company A for using their training materials.

When I confronted company A about the acusations, they do say they were former employees of company B but their training is original and not a copy of company B.

Is there any risk for me to proceed with the purchase from company A?

Re: Business Opportunity Question

First, one or both companies could be lying to you.

without knowing more, you are likely not at risk by purchasing from company A - you are not doing anything wrong. the alleged lawsuit is between them.

however, i would be very leery and cautious about purchasing from either company - a lot of companies that sell programs and information are a scam and you do not get your money's worth.
