How to collect on a summary judgement from a corporation.

We have recieved a summary judgement in Colorado against a corporation in Michigan. Our attorney is getting the judement upheld in Michigan. How do we collect on this judement? We already have their bank account numbers and have located the funds.

You can hire an attorney in Michigan to take post judgment action, such as conducting a creditors exam and garnishing.

How much money is at stake? You need to get the judgment certified and entered in the proper court in Michigan. Once that is done you will wait 21 days before starting forced collection (forced collection would include, but may not be limited to, garnishment, income tax return garnishment, and execution). If the funds are actually in the bank account you have it is a simple process. It may be easier for you to have local counsel in Michigan handle the process.
