Do I need a Delaware attorney?

Hello again. I'm looking into forming a closely held corporation for a variety of reasons.

I live in Michigan and the other individual involved is in North Carolina. I am considering incorporating in Delaware. Am I allowed to have a Michigan lawyer look into this with me and file the paperwork, or must I have a Delaware attorney? Once incorporated, can that Michigan lawyer (assuming I could use one in the first place) still represent my corporation?

Yes, you can have a local attorney draft the documents, however, you are going to need a registered agent in Delaware (which there are companies that do that for a nominal fee).
