Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan
Can my employer charge me for a customer's unpaid bill? I work for a car dealership that is closing. In the past we've had loyal customers whom we bill after service is performed on their vehicle. Several customers have not paid and have not responded. My boss told me that I would have to pay those bills if the customers do not pay them before we close. Is this legal?

Any attorney will say this does not make any sense. Accounts receivable, the unpaid bills, are the responsibility of the business - unless you made other arrangements with your boss. These kinds of cases are highly fact dependent so you should consult an attorney in your area for specifics.
