Is an employer in Michigan required to carry Workers Compensation Insurance for one office employee working from home?

As a Franchise Attorney I advise you to check with the State's Workers Compensation Board to answer this question. In general, workers comp must be maintained for all employees. Where the employee actually works is not relevant. There are certain exemptions, but these generally apply only to the owner(s) who might also happen to be employees. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
