Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan

Forming an LLC in Michigan

I would like to form an LLC. The information I have says I need to get the application from the Secretary of State. No one at my local Secretary of State office had any idea of what I was talking about. I would prefer to take care of the applications myself and have been told it is fairly easy to form an LLC with out an attorney, but so far I can't even get the application.

Re: Forming an LLC in Michigan

In Michigan, the Corporation Division of the Corporation, Securities & Land Development Bureau in Lansing handles the formation.

They have implemented an integrated voice response system for ordering forms for delivery by fax. That number is (517) 334-6905. Forms can also be downloaded from their web site at http://www.cis.state.mi.us/corp/.

There are a number of legal concerns involved with the formation of any business. I encourage you to discuss your situation with an attorney just to make sure that you do not overlook any important issues.

Best wishes in your new endeavor.
