Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan

Non Compete Contracts

How enforceable is a non compete agreement for a designated driver company?

I worked 30-40 hours a week for the company for 9 months. I was paid $8 an hour. I my business is HQ in a different city and county than my previous employer. Their company is located 30 miles from my home.

I don't remember signing the agreement. All of the paperwork I signed was at a Dunkin Donuts. I am being told that the contract states that I can not start this type of business in a 100 mile radious.

Am I totally screwed?

Re: Non Compete Contracts

You should first look at the agreement carefully. They are enforceable, but they also have to sue you to enforce. I have reviewed many of these from both sides. Visit www.kliszlaw.com to discuss. Tim Klisz
