Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan
Non-compete
As a sales consultant and independant contractor I signed a non compete agreement as required. I've lived in MI for 12 yrs and using my prospect list opened one new account. Can I be prevented from working in my industry within the state of MI for 2 years?

Re: Non-compete
I don't know what your non-compete agreement says, so I cannot be certain. Furthermore, there are certain rules that must be complied with in any non-compete agreement for it to be valid. It has to be reasonable as to length, distance, and time. That is a question only a court/judge can answer.
