Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan

Osha

I recently reported an ex-employer to MIOSHA for some violations they had had and never did anything about it. I got a letter from the company's law firm stating that they were able to determine that it was me that reported them and that I had reported false and defamatory information. They said that I should retract the false comments because of something called ''provisions of MCL 600.2911 Section 2B. Why are they contacting me? Am I in trouble? The statements were true. Please help

Re: Osha

If your statements were true, even if MIOSHA didn't act on them or find your employer in violation, then you have nothing to worry about. The attorney's letter is simply a scare tactic and to probably get you to be quiet about anything that occurs in the future.

it is a crime to make a false report, but again, if you were telling the truth, then you have nothing to worry about.

good luck.
