Overcharged for services?
I recently was married and our florist has given us a bill that is twice what our original budget was. We have a quote for the price he charged us, but immediately after receiving this quote my wife contacted him to let him know that his quote exceeded our budget. He does not recollect this conversation taking place and did not send out a new quote. He has offered to split the difference. We did not sign a contract nor authorize him to exceed the budget that my wife told him over the telephone. What should I do, pay him his offer of splitting the difference or state that we will not pay him more than my wife told him?

I know you don't want to pay, but it is the best way to avoid the courts. It is hard to say what a Judge might say. I would need to see the quote.

I need to know more information relative to your matter. Was the quote in writing? How much if any was actually spent on flowers?
