Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan
I recently went to school and upon completion of my degree my employer had hired someone else to replace me. I had not given any notice that I had found a new position and I was not terminated due to not completing my job as required. In fact I was told that they were very happy with the work I did and that I wore the hat of four employees. Do you feel that I have a good case against my previous employer?

Assuming you were not a union member, you are an at will employee and can be terminated for any reason or no reason at all. You do not state any facts that give rise to a civil rights violation, so I will assume there were not any. You should be eligible for unemployment. Kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
As a Franchise Attorney I only add the following. If you had a written employment contract you would not be an at will employee, subject to the whims (and will) of your employer. If you're just at at will employee, you're out of luck - unless there was some kind of civil rights violation (terminated due to race, sex, etc.) Next time get an employment contract. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
