Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan
Unemployment pay
My Business was closed 17 months ago. I received a letter recently from the Unemployment Insurence Agency that I did not pay Unemployment amount for one Employee, who filed for Unemployed recently. Am I still responsible to pay my share of the Unemployment amount?

Re: Unemployment pay
If the person was your employee during the time that you had a business, yes, you are likely going to be responsible.

Yes, you are responsible, and the State has a very long reach when it comes to collecting its debts.
