Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan
web business
I am starting an internet business where consumers can download ringtones, images and games to their cellphone for a yearly subscription. I have gotten liscensing to use the music already, but I'm running into trouble with the images. Most sites have copyrights, so I won't use those...but others don't say anything about a copyright or it says copyright 1997-2003. Does that mean I can use them? What are the legal issues with using images found on the web?
Thank you for your time.

Re: web business
Copyright attaches with or without a notice. You can't use any image that isn't yours without either paying the owner or getting the owner's consent.
Good luck.
