Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan

Over the weekend we had about $15,000 in equipment stolen from our storage space. My question is: Is the storage facility liable for a portion of the stolen equipment? Apparently, the thieves broke in through a back entrance closed off by a chain. We were told this was a gated storage facility and the only way to get in or out was through the front security coded entrance.
