Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

im 17 and my ex girlfriends dad is getting out of jail an she is saying how he is gonna kick my ass what can i do ? theres no self defense laws im aware of in michigan.

Self defense is an available defense to assault and battery if the defense is used to avoid further assaults. This has been around as long as Michigan has been a state. Best bet is to avoid trouble and if the threats are real, get a PPO against him. Good luck. www.kliszlaw.com Tim Klisz
