Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan
I attended a working interview with no mention of payment. I had the understanding that the working interview would last for about 3 hours and they had me work longer than the "scheduled interview" and then I had to contact the employer about 2 days later and was informed they needed someone to fill the position of something other than what I applied for. I did not even perform the duties of the new position they now needed to fill. Do I have any rights under these circumstances?

Do you have anything in writing, (an email) that describes this "interview" as a "work" session that you would be compensated for? "No mention of payment" does not inspire one to think that payment was forthcoming, regardless of the length of the interview.
